TMTT – S’more Cookie Bar

Posted by djw209 on August 11, 2009

Blessed with Grace

So this week’s recipe that I’m submitting to BlessedwithGrace‘s Tempt my Tummy Tuesday comes from one of my favorite Youtubers, PrincessDiana161.

Although I have NEVER made this recipe, it looked sooo delicious that I couldn’t not share it with you today! I plan on making this yummy treat as soon as the hot soupy weather has left New England – so maybe next week I hope??

I know that she says “s’more” funny in the beginning, but towards the end her son tells her that she was saying it wrong “there’s no h in s’more” Hahahah! How do you say the word “s’more” – smore or schmore?

Here’s the recipe, below will be her video!

S’more Cookie Bar

½ cup butter, room temperature
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ⅓ cups all purpose flour
¾ cup graham cracker crumbs*
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
2 king-sized milk chocolate bars I used 2 4oz bars (Hersheys)
7.5 ounce jar cups marshmallow creme/fluff (not puffed marshmallows)

Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Then mix in the egg and vanilla extract.

In separate bowl combine the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and a pinch of salt.

Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the mixer.

Grease an 8×8 pan (she uses Pam flavored like butter) and spread 1/2 the dough you just finished making on the bottom.

Place the 2 Hershey bars on the dough. “Schmear” the fluff on top of the chocolate. This is hard but so much fun licking the spoon after! Use the whole jar of fluff.

Spread the remaining dough on top – in the video PrincessDiana161 recommends that you take small pieces of dough and flatten it out on your hands and then place on top of the fluff because you won’t be able to spread it if you drop a huge chunk of dough on top of the fluff. It doesn’t need to look perfect, just cover all the fluff.

Bake at 350F for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

Take out of the oven and LET IT SIT UNTIL AT ROOM TEMPERATURE!

Cut and ENJOY!

Apparently she is unaware that it is short for “some more”! 🙂 It does sound good and I loved watching the video! I want to see Frankie!

I think anything in the “s’more” family is a winner. We are thinking in the same vein … I posted “Hobo Stew” today. 🙂
